Chevrolet Adjusts 2027 Corvette Pricing with Across-the-Board Increases Just Months After Launch

Published on October 9, 2026

In a move that highlights the volatile nature of automotive pricing in the current economic climate, Chevrolet has officially updated the cost of the 2027 Corvette lineup. Only a few months after the latest iteration of the iconic American sports car began arriving at dealerships, General Motors has implemented a price hike of $300 across every trim level. This adjustment was first spotted on the "Build and Price" tool of Chevrolet’s official consumer website, signaling that the window for early-bird pricing on the 2027 model year has already closed.

The discovery, initially reported by the enthusiast site Corvette Blogger, confirms that the entry-level 2027 Corvette Stingray now carries a starting price of $73,795, a figure that includes the mandatory $2,495 destination freight charge. This represents a subtle but noteworthy shift from the initial pricing structure announced in June 2026, when the base C8 coupe was positioned at $73,495. While a $300 increase might seem marginal in the context of a high-performance sports car, it reflects a broader trend of incremental adjustments that General Motors has utilized throughout the life cycle of the eighth-generation Corvette.

Price Adjustments Reach Every Corner of the Lineup

The decision to increase the MSRP by a flat $300 was not restricted to the base model. Instead, Chevrolet applied the hike with surgical precision across the entire 2027 hierarchy. Whether a buyer is looking for the entry-level Stingray or the track-focused, record-breaking ZR1X, the premium for entry has risen uniformly. This strategy ensures that the price gaps between the various performance tiers remain consistent, even as the baseline moves upward.

The new pricing structure places the Corvette Grand Sport, a model that has seen significant interest for the 2027 model year, at a starting price of $88,795. Those opting for the more aggressively equipped Grand Sport X will now see a starting figure of $112,495. Moving further up the performance ladder, the high-revving Corvette Z06 now commands $121,695. At the pinnacle of the range, the ultra-high-performance ZR1 and its even more extreme sibling, the ZR1X, have seen their prices adjusted to $197,495 and $227,695, respectively.

It is important for prospective buyers to note that these figures represent the manufacturer’s suggested retail price plus destination charges, but they do not account for the additional financial burden of the federal Gas-Guzzler Tax. Because of the high-displacement, high-output nature of the Corvette’s various powerplants, several models incur significant penalties. The Z06 and the ZR1X are both subject to a $2,600 tax. Furthermore, if a buyer selects the Z06 equipped with the Carbon Aero package—a popular choice for those intending to spend time on the circuit—the penalty increases to $3,000 due to the aerodynamic drag and its subsequent impact on fuel efficiency ratings.
