Historically, this capital might have remained in non-interest-bearing exchange accounts or in stablecoins that carry their own set of counterparty risks. By gaining access to FTIXX through Lynq, these firms can now move their excess cash into a U.S. Treasury-backed fund, allowing them to earn a competitive yield while maintaining the ability to deploy that capital quickly when trading opportunities arise.
Jerald David, CEO of Lynq, emphasized that the addition of FTIXX was a direct response to client feedback. In an interview with CoinDesk TV, David noted that institutional participants were actively seeking a treasury asset on the platform that offered a different yield profile than the instruments previously available. The ability to park capital in a $100 billion fund managed by Goldman Sachs provides a level of security and institutional-grade stability that is highly valued in the often-volatile crypto sector.
The Role of Lynq and tZERO

The technical and regulatory framework making this connection possible is a collaboration between Lynq and tZERO Securities. Lynq operates on a private, permissioned version of the Avalanche (AVAX) blockchain, specifically a Layer 1 network designed to handle institutional-grade settlement. This environment provides the speed and transparency of blockchain technology while maintaining the privacy and compliance controls required by major financial institutions.
To facilitate the inclusion of FTIXX, Lynq underwent significant technological modifications. The platform had to be updated to become "multi-asset capable," as FTIXX represents the first outside fund to be hosted on the network. Prior to this, Lynq had only supported a single investment product. The integration also required a connection with Mosaic, a platform that helps streamline the management of digital and traditional assets.
The involvement of tZERO Securities is equally critical. As an SEC-registered broker-dealer, tZERO provides the necessary regulatory layer for the transactions. Institutional clients looking to access the Goldman Sachs fund must establish a relationship with tZERO and pass rigorous onboarding and eligibility checks. These safeguards ensure that the offering remains compliant with U.S. financial regulations, which is why access is currently restricted to U.S.-based institutional clients.
A Growing Institutional Ecosystem
The launch of FTIXX on Lynq is more than just a new product offering; it is an expansion of an institutional ecosystem that has been quietly growing. According to company data, the Lynq network already supports more than 30 institutional digital asset firms and manages over $89 million in assets. While this figure is small compared to the $100 billion held within FTIXX itself, the infrastructure is now in place to scale as more firms seek to optimize their balance sheets.
